Cooking As Though You Might Cook Again
A cookbook against cookbooks by Danny Licht with photographs by Laura Letinsky
Dear 3 Hole friends,
We’re so excited to officially announce the publication of Danny Licht’s Cooking As Though You Might Cook Again. It is a cookbook against cookbooks, an invitation to cook with our senses and to work with the passage of time, and a reminder of the pleasure and the importance of living with what we have.
Orders are up and running in the 3 Hole bookshop—and if you order by December 10th, your books will reach you in time for the holidays! The book will also be available to order via your local bookstore in the new year. Thank you to our early supporters who made this book possible. (And to everyone who has already ordered it by the dozen!)
Here’s what Cal Peternell, author of Twelve Recipes, has to say about the book:
Cooking As Though You Might Cook Again is like an impossibly lucky yard sale find: a personal kitchen journal that was somehow written just for you. Like a handful of dry beans, Danny Licht’s recipes grow, with a rustic everyday magic, to fill all your pots. Follow the rhythm, as I have, of this stern and sweet set of instructions and it will become your daily beat.
In the book, Danny writes: “Some of my favorite books are cookbooks and I like reading them before bed. They soothe me, comfort me, console me, and excite me; they give substance to my dreams. Then in the morning, as I sit with my coffee, I get to wondering: what do I really want?”
We can’t wait for you to encounter Danny’s philosophical recipes and Laura Letinsky’s still life photographs. And for the book to live on your or a friend’s bedside table, or perhaps gradually grow spattered with sauce.
With love and fullness,
3 Hole Press
